Both the ceremony and reception will be held at the Barn at Valhalla, just west of Chapel Hill, NC. The ceremony will begin at 4 p.m., but guests are encouraged to arrive early, to avoid traffic near the UNC vs. Notre Dame game. Dress code is fall finery and comfortable shoes! The wedding site is outdoors, so please be aware you may need to walk across grass or uneven areas. Food, fun and dancing are planned into the evening and both the ceremony and reception are kid friendly.
Getting There
Note: The Barn is located on a very new gravel road named Duffy's Way. If you need customized directions, use the old address of 9423 Charles Lane. Please do not turn onto Orange Grove Road from NC-54 -- instead, go a little East to Duffy's Way and look for the balloons. Follow the road to the Barn where parking will be designated.
From points West:
Travel eastbound on I-40. Take exit 148 for NC-54 toward Chapel Hill/
Carrboro and take a right onto East Harden Street/NC-54. Stay on NC-54
for about 14 miles. Just after Orange Grove Road, you will see a sign and
balloons. Turn left onto Duffy's Way.
From points East:
Travel westbound on I-40. Take exit 273A for NC-54W toward Chapel
Hill.After 2.9 miles, turn right onto the NC-54W/US 15-501 ramp toward
Carrboro/Pittsboro. Stay on NC-54 for about 11 miles, until you see a sign
and balloons. Turn right onto Duffy's Way.
Where to Stay
A block of rooms has been reserved at the Staybridge Suites in Durham. Reservations can be made over the phone by calling 919-401-9800. Single suites (1-bed plus kitchen) are available for $119/night. Single suites with a fold out sofa are available for $129/night. Be sure to ask for the Marks-Russell Wedding to receive these special rates before September 10, 2008. Because of the Carolina football weekend, all Chapel Hill hotels are sold out.
